Report by the MTCR Chair: MTCR outreach mission to Oman

The Outreach program of the joint Netherlands-Luxembourg MTCR Chairmanship continued with a visit to Oman on 9 March 2016. The mission to Oman, a country with an important logistical function in the region, marked the first visit to the Middle East of the current outreach program. Topics discussed included a debrief of the 2015 MTCR Plenary, regional developments with respect to missile non-proliferation, and risks resulting from brokering, transit and transhipment. The current joint Netherlands-Luxembourg Chairmanship has planned several more outreach missions in the coming months.
